After a four-year hiatus from touring, beloved singer-songwriter Jack Johnson is returning to the road with an ambitious 43-show tour across North America in 2026. The SURFILMUSIC Tour marks Johnson’s first major tour since 2022 and promises to be his most environmentally conscious effort yet.
A Return to the Stage
The announcement comes alongside the release of Johnson’s new single “Hold On To The Light,” a collaboration with the acclaimed instrumental duo Hermanos Gutiérrez. The track serves as the soundtrack to an upcoming documentary that explores Johnson’s multifaceted life as a surfer, filmmaker, and musician. The documentary, set for release next year, will feature legendary surfers including Kelly Slater and Rob Machado.
Johnson collaborated with Hermanos Gutiérrez and producer Mario Caldato Jr. on the film’s soundtrack. Caldato Jr., who previously worked on several of Johnson’s earlier albums, brings his seasoned expertise back to the project, creating a sonic landscape that captures the essence of Johnson’s surf-inspired artistry.
