Legendary banjo virtuoso Béla Fleck has announced an extensive international tour for his innovative ensemble BEATrio, spanning from late 2025 through spring 2026. The acclaimed trio, featuring Fleck on banjo, Colombian harp master Edmar Castañeda, and Grammy-winning drummer Antonio Sánchez, will tour Europe and North America in support of their debut album released in 2025.
A Unique Musical Collaboration
BEATrio represents a groundbreaking fusion of instruments and styles, combining Fleck’s pioneering banjo work with Castañeda’s virtuosic harp playing and Sánchez’s sophisticated drumming. Tour Highlights
The tour showcases Fleck’s versatility, beginning with performances alongside his legendary group the Flecktones throughout November and December 2025. These shows will feature collaborations with renowned musicians including saxophonist Jeff Coffin, bassist Victor Wooten, percussionist Roy “Futureman” Wooten, and keyboardist Howard Levy.
The BEATrio segment launches at the prestigious Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow before touring iconic European venues, including Hamburg’s architecturally stunning Elbphilharmonie. The European leg visits eight cities across six countries, bringing the trio’s innovative sound to some of the continent’s finest concert halls.
Following the European dates, BEATrio returns to North America in April 2026 for an intimate tour of theaters and performing arts centers across the United States and Canada. The tour includes a special appearance with Abigail Washburn, Fleck’s wife and an accomplished banjo player in her own right.
