Gorillaz Bring House of Kong Exhibition to Los Angeles Ahead of Two Special Shows

Gorillaz are gearing up for a massive 2026, and Los Angeles will be at the center of the celebration. The groundbreaking virtual band led by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett has announced that their acclaimed House of Kong exhibition will arrive in LA for a limited four-week run from February 26th to March 19th, 2026, taking over Rolling Greens DTLA. Alongside the exhibit, Gorillaz will also perform a special two-night stand at the Hollywood Palladium on February 22nd and 23rd, where they will play their upcoming album The Mountain in full for the first time.

The House of Kong exhibition made its debut earlier this year in London, where it ran from August 8th to September 3rd. Conceived as an immersive journey into the band’s vibrant audiovisual universe, the installation celebrated the group’s 25th anniversary while offering fans unprecedented access to the creative world behind one of music’s most influential multimedia projects. The London launch was met with widespread praise, drawing longtime fans, newcomers, and art lovers alike into a surreal, meticulously crafted environment that showcased the band’s evolution.

To close the London run in style, Albarn surprised fans with four unique live performances at the Copper Box. Each night centered around one of Gorillaz’s landmark records: their 2001 debut on night one, Demon Days on night two, and Plastic Beach on night three. The finale, billed as a “Mystery Show,” delivered live debuts of several tracks from their forthcoming album The Mountain, along with deep cuts and favorites spanning their entire discography. The shows became instant fan lore, blending nostalgia with hints of the band’s next era.

With the Los Angeles edition of House of Kong, Gorillaz are promising an equally immersive experience. Tickets are on sale now for $39.50 through the event’s official website. Fans who attend the exhibition will have a major perk: first access to pre-sale tickets for the two Hollywood Palladium concerts. That pre-sale opens on Tuesday, December 9th at 9:00 a.m. PST, giving exhibition attendees a valuable edge. General on-sale for the Palladium shows begins Wednesday, December 10th at 9:00 a.m. PST via Ticketmaster.

Creative director Stephen Gallagher, who has played a key role in shaping the modern Gorillaz visual identity, emphasized in a press release that House of Kong is far more than a look back. “House of Kong is not a retrospective, it’s an audio-visual artwork; an installation that takes a glance backwards in order to identify the path ahead,” he explained. Gallagher also reflected on his eight years working with the band. “The outpouring of music and art that I have found myself immersed in has changed my life. I hope that some of that comes across in this show.” Gorillaz have released an official trailer for the exhibit, giving fans a taste of the world awaiting them in Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, anticipation continues to build for The Mountain, Gorillaz’s ninth studio album, which officially drops on March 20th, 2026. The band has already offered glimpses of the record through three teaser tracks: “The God of Lying (feat. IDLES),” “The Happy Dictator (feat. Sparks),” and “The Manifesto (feat. Trueno and Proof).” Each track showcases a different side of Gorillaz’s ever-shifting sonic palette, suggesting that The Mountain will be one of their most adventurous releases yet. Fans can pre-order the album now.

As of now, the two Los Angeles shows are the only U.S. live dates the band has planned for 2026. However, Gorillaz will be busy overseas next spring, with a UK and European tour lined up to support the release of The Mountain. Still, the combination of the House of Kong exhibit and the exclusive Mountain performances make Los Angeles a must-visit destination for fans during this new era.

With their knack for blending art, music, and storytelling into a singular experience, Gorillaz continue to push the boundaries of what a band can be. The arrival of House of Kong and the unveiling of The Mountain mark the start of an exciting new chapter—one that promises to captivate audiences across the world, starting with Los Angeles in early 2026.
