Metallica has officially confirmed that its historic M72 World Tour will continue into a fourth year, announcing a major European and United Kingdom leg set for May, June, and July 2026. This additional run promises even more massive stadium shows, complete with the band’s signature full-production experience and unique “No Repeat Weekend” performances.
Since launching in April 2023 in Amsterdam, the M72 World Tour has already drawn nearly four million fans worldwide, making it one of the most successful tours of the decade. Critics have universally praised the tour’s energy, spectacle, and setlist ambition—Billboard called it “an altogether life-affirming experience,” Metal Hammer heralded it as “undeniably epic,” and the Los Angeles Times noted that Metallica sounded “as tight and furious as Metallica has sounded in ages.” These accolades reflect a band at the peak of its live powers.
A defining feature of Metallica’s M72 World Tour has been its No Repeat Weekends, where cities hosting two-night stands receive completely different setlists and alternate opening support acts. For 2026, this tradition continues in full force, giving fans twice the opportunity to experience rare deep cuts, fan favorites, and surprising song rotations—making each night a truly unique event.
Among the most anticipated stops on the 2026 itinerary are Metallica’s first performances in Frankfurt, Germany and Dublin, Ireland since 2009’s World Magnetic Tour. Frankfurt’s Deutsche Bank Park will host two shows on May 22 and 24, while Dublin’s Aviva Stadium will see two nights of Metallica on June 19 and 21. The band also returns to Budapest, Hungary for the first time in many years with concerts at Puskas Arena on June 11 and 13, and will headline two nights at London Stadium on July 3 and 5.
In addition to multi-night stands, Metallica will bring the tour’s massive in-the-round stage to several one-off dates across Europe, including cities that are new additions to the M72 run. These single-show cities allow fans across the continent to experience the full spectacle of the tour, even if just for one night.
Support acts for the 2026 European/UK dates include Gojira, Pantera, Knocked Loose, and Avatar—a powerful lineup of artists representing today’s most exciting heavy music. The tour is produced by Live Nation, and as always, a portion of proceeds from every ticket sold will benefit local charities through Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation. Established in 2017, the foundation has raised over $20 million, supporting career and technical education initiatives like the Metallica Scholars program, fighting food insecurity, and providing disaster relief around the world.
Tickets for the newly announced No Repeat Weekends and single-night shows will go on sale May 30 at 10 AM local time via LiveNation.co.uk. Fan club pre-sales begin May 27 at 11 AM local time, and Mastercard cardholders in the UK will have access to Preferred Tickets beginning Friday, May 30 at 10 AM local time through the Priceless platform.
